If the economy does not improve and jobs continue to be lost, bush will take the blame as he should.

This is totally faulty logic.

a) Tax Cuts Passed
b) Economy Gets Worse
c) Therefore, Tax Cuts Didn't Help

While this is a short version that uninformed people might interpret as you say, the reality is that we can't tell to what extent the tax cuts helped.

One has to remember that the economic downturn we're in followed the most massive, irrationally exhuberant economy in history. The downturn could reasonably have been expected to be huge. Yet, it has been mild.

A more reasonable argument is that Bush's tax cuts kept the economy from getting much worse than one might have expected. You may disagree, but the logic clearly makes more sense than what you suggested...

Your probably right that he will take the blame if the economy doesn't improve. Politics is often more about perceptions then reality.
