I've no doubt that Saddam subsidized Palestinian terrorism, but I'm not convinced that this was sufficient reason to deploy American armed forces. Israel is not the 51st state, or wasn't last time I looked.

I'm saying you have to be very careful what you use to "excuse" your incursion into the sovereign territory of other countries- and when you try to use something as iffy as "preemptive" war, on the grounds that you were under some sort of imminent threat, you better make sure it is imminent, and there is a threat.

Do I see differences? Yes. Do they justify going to war? No.
