*** FaultLine Update ***

I visited Ken yesterday, and brought a print out of your greeting and good wishes. He recognized all of your names, and many of your comments brought a smile to his face.

Ken's doing much better than I might have imagined. He not only recognized me, he played me like a fiddle -lol. He requested I loosen his hand restraints, which are designed to keep him from removing monitors, tubes, and such. When I asked him if that would get me in trouble with the nurse, he gave a sly grin and said "yes". So I removed them, and he immediately began energetically ripping off the monitors, tubes, and such, with both hands, which had me roflmao. It also showed that his motor skills have returned, which is really unexpected in such a short time since the stroke.

Ken is talking well, considering he's just recovering from a lung infection and a couple weeks of having a breathing tube jammed down his throat. And as far as mental acuity is concerned, I didn't see any problem at all. He still has his piquish sense of humor, bitched about the market and taxes, and was very interested in the technical details behind a digital photo I gave him as a get well card.

I spent about 45 minutes with Ken, just long enough to convince him he really needed a nap :-).
