'So why should we bother to fool anyone that we are a benign nation? Nothing could be further from the truth. We have to stick to exploitation, that's what has made this country great!'

Then why did we intervene in Bosnia (albeit very late) and Kosovo? The last time I looked, neither country was producing much in the way of oil.

I would guess that we will commit some resources to Liberia. That would be appropriate given our historical ties to the country. I would, however, hope that we do not take the lead in a peacekeeping effort, not that the country appears particularly ready for peacekeepers. If I am not mistaken, there are three factions, one whose than the other, currently fighting.

I am still curious as to your position on Liberia. I don't know if Kerry has taken a position yet. I'll have to hunt down AS, his resident mouthpiece.
