But some things are not fixable by us. Africa is one of them.

Lindy, you're probably right, but the thing is, the US has to stop thinking that they have to fix everything and realize that maybe there is something to learn from Africa. It is a story of cooperation and compromise.

The situation in SAfrica could have been a tinderbox, the potential for a full on race war was massive, but in the end, at least so far, it hasn't turned out that way. As far as self directed revolutionary struggles tend to go, and I am not trying to be disrespectful, but here you had a 180 degree turnaround that was almost bloodless.

African society (including Egypt) has been there for thousands of years. So has the Chinese society. The US just had it's 227th Birthday.

Wonder how many people will really stop and ask themselves WHY a country that is RICH in natural materials has *so many millions* of it's people in abject poverty? For all those thousands of years.

The Chinese society has flourished and is very rich as well in natural resources. They are finally on the path back from Socialism/Marxism and Mao.

The US is a Democracy in a Republic. Considering we have only had 227 years, we are doing very well as a society. So well in fact, that most of the rest of the world think they can call on us to do their work in the world. And kick us in the seat of the pants while we do it.

I believe it is time to have the rest of the world pick up the slack and do their "fair share"....
