Iraq is an entirely different situation.

Earlier.when faced with the prospect of an Iraqi war, and knowing I was intellectually ill prepared to make any judgements about the subject, I embarked upon a "journey" to educate myself. The road will be long , and I know I've just begun. Still I have made some progress, and know a "little" more than when I began.

What I don't know is your qualifications to judge the Iraq "situation", as you call it. To know it is "entirely different", requires that you know what it is. So, to preclude a waste of our times, and to not bore you, I'll merely ask if you are familiar with

1) The differences in the culture of the components of the Iraqi demographic - e.g. What are the differences in belief of Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims?

2) The Arab concept of umma (or ummah)?

3) The difference between the "Big" and "Little" jihad?

4) Al-Azhar, and it's significance in the Muslim world?

I'll defer judgement on your ability to accurately make the assessment you attempted, until your reply.

Hope your day is as "bright and sunny" as is mine. All the best.
