Yes anything could happen, but I dont believe the democratic party would allow Dean to be nominated if they can possibly help it, and Kerry trumps all the other centrists who would eventually endorse him, not Dean. The CLintons and Gore would also endorse Kerry not Dean.
Unless Dean can pull a terrific upset in New Hampshire, he'll fade into permanent second place fast, as the "protest" candidate for the left. Indeed many democrats are now aware that supporting Dean may be equal to supporing Bush now. Karl Rove prays he could run against dean, who is tough but fairly easy to brand a leftist, despite some of his centrist policies.
