Hi Neocon; Re: "If they expected to be "slimed", why didn't they wear them, as our troops did?"

Uh, if they expected to use WMDs, then why didn't they wear them, LOL.

Re: "is an old adage in medical school:"When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras"."

Not if you're in a game park in Zimbabwe.

Re: "In other words, reach for the obvious explanation first, and only after it has not checked out, go for the exotic."

So when the inspectors don't find any WMDs, and US forces don't find any WMDs, you conclude that space aliens took them away just before the war.

Re: "In this case, the obvious explanation is that the suits were there in case the Iraqis decided to use VX against us."

No, this is obvious only to you. In the event, not only did the Iraqis not use any VX, not only did our troops find no stockpiles of VX, not only did the Iraqi prisoners report that they had zero stockpiles of WMDs, but in addition, the obvious conclusion that Iraq didn't have any is accepted throughout most of the world.

It's only in your twisted, complicated and difficult to understand world where the "obvious" explanation is always that you're about to be attacked. These are the "obvious" explanations of a coward, who hears a noise and shoots into the night without the slightest idea what is going on. And then, when it becomes clear that there was no threat, goes on and on about how obvious it was that he heard robbers plotting to attack him.
