Crystal Balling Nokia's medium term future

TCG,

<< Eric, Two questions: 1) What are the prospects for NOK over the next 1-2 years? >>

I think prospects are fine over the next 1-2 years, and certainly better than over the next 2 to 6 months.

Euro's up, Euro's down. Dollar is very likely to strengthen against the Euro one of these days, and that eliminates the conversion problem NOK has been suffering as they improve market share in US.

I think that is important to keep in mind that right now handsets are carrying the networks division.

Networks WILL improve, the question is when. Most likely we'll see better visibility, and more optimism by this time next year. Best to keep in mind Nokia has separated from the pack and is a clear #2 to Ericsson in infra, and when infra improves, sector sentiment will improve with it, and most likely Nokia's valuation.

<< 2) Would you be buying now, or wait a bit? There seems to be some support on the charts at ~$10. >>

If I were adding, and I'm really not planning to since I'm very comfortable with my current position (~10% of my tech equities), I'd be looking at an entry point below $14 and I think its likely we will see that in the dog days of August, while in general NOK will most likely pretty much trade in a range of $14 to $16 for the balance of this quarter, IMO.

Best I can offer, and it is just my opinion.
