I was going to respond to Jacob, but your post contains the passage from Tony Blair's wonderful speech that kept drawing me back for another look, so I will do it here.

Tony Blair in his wisdom and astuteness points out that hate is the most powerful weapon of all.

And just as the terrorist seeks to divide humanity in hate, so we have to unify around an idea. And that idea is liberty.

Some people are incapable of giving up a grudge and they will cling to a history that can't be changed. They will *never* unify around an idea, but continue down the path of hatred so coveted by the masters of terror.

And although it has been 676 days without a terrorist attack on American soil, thanks in great part to those damned Neocons in Washington, it is perfectly clear that terrorists are succeeding beautifully in their mission to "divide humanity in hate."

I'm seeing it everywhere, including on SI.
