He would do anything that let the right-wing drive him out this way. If Arnold wants to be governor he's going to have to run in 2006. If he does, he might win, but he'll also be subject to background checks. And in Arnold's background are some major skeletons. Dean is feisty, tough and smart. But the GOP will be able to brand him as a "Ben + Jerry's Peoples' Republic Of Vermont" guy with zero military or foreign experience. Dean could run fairly strong against Bush but wont be able to get the pro-military vote that Kerry can get. That may be the margin of victory. I think Dean it will eventually turn into a Kerry vs. Dean race. Dean will be the feisty underdog, but Kerry will be backed by the establishment and every major Democrat as well as most "super delegates" which make up 37& of the total. Also, Dean will run strictly against Bush. He doesn't have anything to attack Kerry on. Their views are much too similar. All he can do it say Kerry voted for the war resolution, but Kerry made it very clear at the time that he was voting only because Bush promised to go to the Un and huild a large coalition and post-war plan. Since Bush failed to carry through with those promises, Kerry is in the clear on the war. He's actually been 100% correct. While Dean being totally anti-war is just too liberal. America still wants a leader who's tough militarily. Kerry is, Dean isn't. Dean is like a feistier Dukakis. As for high tech, Kerry is very vocal about maximizing our high-tech industry. It;'s one of the reasons I support him.
