We have no carrier, we'd have to take planes apart and fedex the bits, it wouldn't be much of a grand entrance ... sounds within the realm of the possible though, depending on how everyone felt about it, the icelanders especially .... we don't have much quantity in the air force, i know this, they say the quality is kept up but i doubt the RCAF can cover this country adequately, let alone anywhere else

There is a lot of connection, we have a New Iceland in Manitoba that may rival the population of Reykjavik, there were thousands already an hundred years ago ... and of course the first known european here was Eric the Red, and the first european born here, named Snorri, they were both icelanders

Small nation, less people in the whole country than in Victoria BC, it is said .... they have no military, but then who would attack them, they are smart hardy people and not pushovers .... they are not poor either, and should be paying something for defense .... but then i guess you can't really have just one fighter, you need all the support stuff

If the US is keeping a base there, with other planes, and pulling out fighters, then it sounds like they figure there is no application for fighters in the area? .... thinking they can cover it all with missiles, probably ... they may be right in that, maybe fighters are of more value elsewhere .... there should be a canadian presence though, and an officer exchange programme with their military ... oops, they don't have one ... well they must have cops with big clubs, at least
