ralph- i'm on the same page as you for much of what you say. however, i would like to say this in defense of the common soldier with the bulls eye painted on his back in iraq right now. imo, they are victims of a cruel propaganda campaign and i use the word victims deliberately. they are the expendable. the majority are i believe, poor, disadvantaged and uneducated. by in large, those with means are not signing up. - join the army and see the world - join the army and get an education .... that is if we don't kill you first. it happens in canada as well. the only difference being that usually when our troops are dispatched they are on peace keeping missions except those currently in afghanistan. but maybe that is their role now. did you read in the paper today that more canadians have been shipped over? those kids over there don't want to kill. they want to come home. jmo rose
