Killing the killer does not make the killing ok, ok?

Besides killing the killer will relieve her of having remorse for her evil act. So she ought to spend the rest of her life behind bars looking at the wall, and thinking what an ass I am for commiting murder.

Another benefit is that capital punishment costs more or less the same as incarceration for life, and it does give the opportunity to free someone if new evidence should emerge, as it has now in over 125 cases of death row inmates.

And since we are one of the only industrialized nations to use capital punishment, we could lift ourselves out of the dark ages by banning it. Capital punishment does not deter heinous crimes, and in fact since implementation of the death penalty for certain crimes in the US the number of those crimes has risen.

OK then can you think of any good reasons to have a death penalty?
