Very high Itanium 2 SPEC scores:

Yup. 6MB of cache makes a lot of difference. Even 1 MB vs. 512K. Check out the new 1 MB Xeon score:

AMD needs to fix the density of the L2 cache for the 90nm transition and probably need to offer 2MB Opteron at some point.

Pravin: ref high I2 scores.

I noticed the spec base & peak values were equivalent. Does that mean the benchmark is fitting within the 6 Meg cache? If so, I wonder how that translates to real world apps.
