Hundreds of thousands of inmates are released annually. A high percent repeat their offences. Assailants, rapists, and murders are among the most prevalent of the reoffenders. Knowing this, why do we release so many of them? We can't afford the system that is needed to retain them. "Or give them life w/o parole, same difference, except there is a huge savings in cost of appeals etc." ya don't say....
