re: I think you are confusing two or more WMD false alarms.
ok, that maybe but one thing to remember is that those containers had some equipment that was illegally smuggled to Iraq

regardless, lets go back to pre-war time, there were 3 main things that were sold to US is that
1) Sadam claimed to destroy chemical weapons but refused to provide details
2) Satellites had pictures of mobile labs
3) war crimes and civil rights violations in Iraq

there were no big claims of uranium etc

about 2); some info was given to UN but UN did not find any mobile labs at all, why? that was a clear violation even if those were candy producing labs

about 1) & 3); those are the facts documented by UN

all in all it was for Iraq to show to the world that claims are baseless.

the biggest mistake that Bush is doing now is that he trying to justify something that he already justified

Even if Bush would find weapons grade uranium in Iraq that would not be a justification for a war since it would be discovered after the fact. Bush was justified based on the evidence at the time and that is all that matters.

Sadam, OTOH was given plenty of opportunity to address US concerns and he did not
