It's my humble opinion that the President has little impact on the short term economy, but can have a significant impact long term.

Even though you are a talk show conservative, you can't have it both ways. Does Clinton get credit for the prosperity during his term, and Bush take the heat for his term? Or do agree with me that these guys don't have a short term impact.
