Carefully note the sequence of events leading up to that handover of power the the executive branch. The most critical turns in the road were accompanied by unprecedented judicial activism, astonishing coincidental terrorist incidents starting with 9/11, anthrax, the snipers, mysterious deaths of the principal opposing Senator, and the false "dirty bomber" story. Congress handed dictator like powers to one man, without due diligence, under false pretenses, and without representing the will of an informed democratic society. The entire system of checks and balances built into our Constitution was tossed out the window, and the net effect is a President who was elected by judges, was then elected Dictator by Congress.
