And Vietnam is free from foreign domination

That's hardly the case... From the French, to the Japanese, to the Soviets/Chinese, and not to the global multi-nationals upon whom the Vietnamese power elite is looking to revitalize their ruined economy..

They have shed the veil of "communism" but they are still a kleptocracy, riddled with corruption.. In fact, some could state with just cause that they are now a quasi-aristocracy of former Communist party elites..

But they have not, and will never, rid themself of foreign domination.. Today it just comes in the form of financial in-flows and out-flows of capital.
