And I'm not suggesting that we should be going nuts spending. But when your family is at risk, you don't worry about what it costs to protect them. In the United States, our family was at risk. I could care less what it costs to protect us. Double, triple the defense budget, if necessary. It simply doesn't matter.THERE WAS NO THREAT, IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, FROM IRAQ I'm getting the idea you have read my previous post. So I don't have to take time to write it again, perhaps you could just go back and read it. I took the time to write it, I've read YOUR posts, I'd think you could take the time to read mine. If you HAD read my previous post, you would now know that taking out Saddam was a key to eliminating the threat of terrorism against the United States, without regard for whether Saddam himself posed a threat (I think he did, but it is unimportant). You really have to think about this stuff if you really want to understand it.Even you would probably admit that we are much worse off today, wrt the federal budget (and SS), than we were at the end of the Clinton administration. No, I wouldn't. I recognized that the so-called "surplusses" would never materialize. There was never any question that money would be spent. I'm just pleased we've spent some of it making this nation safer rather than getting more bums on the public dole, which is what the Dems would have had us do with those surplusses. Just stop listening to Rush. While I've heard tidbits of Rush's show over the last ten years, I suspect the total time spent listening to him over that period has been less than two hours. I might listen to him now were he on XM radio. I listened to him before Clinton some. While I believe he is a brilliant individual and a great entertainer, I just don't have the time for it anymore. It is not shocking if Rush and I have some of the same ideas. Like Rush, I believe when a liberal says something you have to assume it is a lie or there is an ulterior motive. They are, simply, not to be trusted.
