Most of the country is still surviving off the prosperity of the Clinton years. All of that re-fi money came from the appreciated asset values of the 90s.

Actually, the poverty rate was only slightly lower than under Reagan, and growth was modest for his first term, averaging about the same as during the Bush Administration, including the recession. It was after the Republicans captured the Congress that growth took off. For whatever that is worth, of course.......
