Honest, Ten, you can't believe it was fear. If it was, we need to go after EVERYBODY.

Don't be surprised if you don't get a response to this post. Pretty much everything you said runs counter to what conservatives have been telling themselves for the past year.

JF, If he was so rich in WMD, why didn't he use them to defend himself?

You said it yourself. The inspections were "working." It is possible that with all of that warning, Saddam could have hidden the WMD, smuggled them out, or destroyed them outright. It would make sense given the theory that he'd wait out the latest inspections, just like he did the last ones.

Everything else stems from the notion that Bush spent billions of dollars and over a hundred American lives just to get his hands on oil. Even history is being rewritten just to support this conspiracy theory. Everything from what Clinton said about Iraqi WMD (and is STILL saying today) to the so-called wisdom of the "world" is being twisted around to suit those nuts who equate Bush with Hitler.

What terrorist group did he do business with? Answer: none. All the real intel has said that, the crap you choose to believe is political spin and fantasy.

The Al Qaieda link was both tenuous and exaggerated but there is evidence of links to other groups. For that matter some of the more skilled and better trained Fedayeen types could have done the job.
