I don't question that. What I question is why they weren't leading a charge against other non-procreative-focus marriages. I recall them making an issue of "mixed" marriages. I recall them making an issue of "living in sin." I don't recall them ever making an issue of "sham" marriages. If the institution of marriage is so sacred, where have they been? Sure, they may be avoiding officiating at that kind of marriage, themselves, but if it's so important that marriage be about procreation, why haven't they made a political statement about that assault on marriage, as well. Perhaps the Pope has spoken out against the many marriages entered by illegal immigrants solely so they could stay in this country but I just never heard about it because they only broadcast it in Latino churches. Yeah, right.
