Iraq could easily become another Palestine, N. Ireland, Chechnya, Afghanistan etc. draining our treasury and killing off our soldiers year after year. And neocons like D.Ray will keep it going by saying its the right thing to do or we will win in the end or the goal is worth the means, never admitting that they were wrong in the first place!

This is the same kind of remark we were hearing during the sandstorm. "The Pentagon underestimated the difficulty of this war; now they're in a 'quagmire'. Of course, nothing could have been further from the truth. But a few people with very limited vision saw it that way, and suddenly it became "fact". Not one of you ever said, "Well, we were wrong. We jumped to conclusions. The war went great." Even today the total dead Americans and civilians are far fewer than the liberals anticipated.

In this instance, the entire Democrat party is trying to get the world to view the war effort the way that is politically the best for them, not at all concerned about what is best for either country. Jay Rockefeller is one of the worst, but the entire field of Democrat presidential candidates is in the same group -- except for Lieberman.
