We have not "rectified" the mistake- you can't give the dead back their lives. We've tried a different tack- but it remains to be scene whether it will be a success or not. We may simply have made another mistake. But don't kid yourself, when the dead are dead, there is no rectification possible- there is only change from what went before.

You think we made a mistake before. Now you think we are not making a mistake. But you may be wrong.

No, we made a brand-new and much bigger mistake. We signed-on to a new policy framework -- the "Bush Doctrine", that is set on using the "superpower" status of the US to find unilateral military solutions to conduct our foreign affairs -- the power of the gun. The Bush Doctrine is poison to the healthy functioning of the international community that relies on moral authority and the rule of law.
