<<FORD REPORTED that U.S. vehicle sales fell 10.7% in July, amid discounting and discontinuation of certain vehicles. GM sales fell 5.5%, while DaimlerChrysler sales fell 8%. Toyota sales rose 4.5%, and Nissan's North America unit reported sales rose 5.9%.>>

All those numbers make sense to me for the following reasons

Ford - worst looking lineup of SH!T cars I've ever seen. They are still selling more than they should

GM - Lame looking designs and pretty average reliability. They also deserve to be falling in sales

DaimlerChrysler - There are 2 kinds of Chrysler - Those that have a new transmission and those that will soon need a new transmission. Styling is pretty good but they have to get a handle on this tranny issue and quite selling us SH!T cars

Toyota - Probably one of the best engineered cars in the world. Great reliability, decent appearance

Nissan - Nissan has always built a good car. They never get the credit they deserve for reliability and yet they rank right up there with Honda and Toyota. On top of that they have a pretty damn nice lineup in terms of appearance. The Altima, Maxima and 350z are all quite nice looking. If there are no engineering issues with the Altima it could become one of the best selling cars in the US based on looks.
