Let me enlighten you then and save you from further anguished posts based on your misunderstanding of the historical facts and present reality.

We are paying a very high price for oil, higher than most everyone else in the world. Our sons and daughters are making the ultimate sacrifice in order to ensure oil flow is stable from the Persian Gulf. For every death there are billions of dollars spent supporting our miitary, many maimed US military personnel and thousands of manhours of sacrifice by our military.

On top of security we pay market prices oil we buy.

Oil supply security is the name of the game, idiotic comments about stealing reveal some of the lunacy of the anti liberate Iraq crowd.

What price did we pay after Saddam invaded Iran? Neither supplier has recovered yet.

After he invaded Kuwait?

Of course you would have been happy to continue paying Saddam enabling him to continue to be able to strike back at his enemies again one day through his repeated acts of aggression.
