I don't see how you can deny that homosexuality is maladaptive. Clearly the body parts we have, whether designed by God or evolution, are intended for heterosexual sex. Clearly homosexual sex obviates reproduction. If that ain't maladaptive, I don't know what is.

Now, in another time in human history, say a future where the world runs out of resources, it may be just the adaptation we need, but not now.

Let me be clear that I don't think maladaptive implies in any way that the maladapted should not be fully accepted by society. I'm only making the point that "maladaptive" is, IMO, an appropriate word. And it's surely a more desirable word than "deviant" because it is a neutral word. A nice PC word. <g>
