I cannot deny, I should have avoided involvement to begin with.......

Probably. We should all probably be doing something else. But I have found the discussion interesting and I'm glad we had it.

In light of your frustration it is probably appropriate to acknowledge for the record that there is little difference in terms of policy among our positions, yours, X's and mine. You've protested about that a couple of times and I have been remiss in not acknowledging it. We seem to have a consensus around civil unions.

The differences are attitudinal. X approves of homosexuality, you tolerate it, and I accept it. I'm in the middle, not that far from either of you. You two are farther apart. I agree with you that celebration of homosexuality is either PC, my definition, or flaky. I agree with X that your tolerance attitude is collaboration and gives aid and comfort to the enemy--the bigots, idiots, Jesus freaks, nervous nellies, homophobes, etc. that get so exercised over Heather having two mommies. I'm prepared to give them the word, marriage. Beyond that, well, they should take a good long look in the mirror.
