Yes, they are two separate operations, and this Administration has apparently decreased efforts against Al Queda in favor of increasing efforts against Iraq.

One good thing to understand from this action of the Administration is that they are telling us the AlQueda is not as dangerous as originally portrayed. I perceive this based on their allocation of military forces. And remember, they have underfunded Homeland Security and last week they were even going to cut the number of screeners and Air Marshalls.

But, then again, we have this urgent report about "small appliances being used as weapons on Airplanes". This is not really big news because this technique was used to blow up a plane over Lockerbee in 1988. Well, I'm going to dismiss this urgent warning as a Rove Tactic to keep the Iraq-quagmire-no-WMDs-Soldiers-Dying-Stories out of the news cycle.
