I agree on the polling, few people in the country are happy w. their govn'rs, what I mean by "bogus" are the petitions, which wouldn't have been signed without paying a million or two dollars bounty. A hundred years ago, petitions were fine, now they don't mean much. Isa has shown a flaw in the Calif law. Anyone can threaten to unseat a duly elected govn'r with a couple million bucks, start a recall election costing the public $60m, and generating buzz among all the wannabes. The law will have to be fixed. Or, heck, maybe we'll get better gov't by embattling the govn'r on an annual basis, after all the less gov't the better <gg>
