Pretty rugged mkt : Have to admit that diversification has some benefits if fully invested. As a trader I have to shift rapidly in a down mkt like last few days. Had to dump 220 NFI and 150 Tma as they started down just to survive. Would have run out of margin. Not a nice way to live if a person wants time away from the market. Today I have quite a bit of China which will bring back some losses. Have been reading about investment/trading systems in IBD mag. and can relate to the man who has written the programs since I used to write my own programs for horses. The statement was made that its still very important how the funds are handled regardless of how good the sytem is which is true. Despite a good report, Csco as always, tries to keep the whisper numbers down by providing ultra conservative estimates in their conference calls. Tends to stabilize the stock price, but it slops over into other stocks like Dell and produces a temporary hit on those. We got to the 1750 level on the Nas and are now in the bouncy phase before moving up to the 2000 level. Hard to say how long it will last. Capturing Saddam should help put us back to 1750. But am not betting on reaching 2000 soon , have been through .too many of those dreaded Octobers so it may not happen until December. BDY should move up today, its no 4 on the best performers and has raised their estimates Overall IMO there seems to be overnight buying in this market with Nas moving up, so I think people are still trying to get invested instead of escape as happened during the 2 years of down.
