In their own sick little minds, they think they are doing what is best for the country because their policies help them and their friends. This by default is best for the country, don't you understand supply side economics? It works like this; I get the big pie and the rest of you if you behave will get some crumbs and damn it you will be happy about that too! Also if everyone was like them then of course it would be a better country. duh!! Screw the rest of the population because they are not really Americans anyway they are either evildoers, commies, traitors, or just plain whiners. At least that is what Faux News tells me... Oh and so what if Cheney et al only represent 1% of the population, they are the chosen ones. Got it....... good. Some of you people are so slow around here........

yes
I think they probably are
although I can't IMAGINE how their thought processes work
almost no one imagines they are a traitor to the ideals of their country- that is very rare

Call me ignorant, but I have spent a lot of time trying to reconcile the policies (and logical outcomes) with motivations. Money...power.......it just does not seem adequate motivation.
