Interesting no matter how you look at it.

Nixon once said in the 60s after losing the governor's race to Jerry Brown's father - (and I paraphrase) "There's no such thing as bad publicity (read PR) - just get your name in front of the public as often as you can." And he was right - for awhile.

Publicity can work for you or work against you depending on how smart your "handlers" are.

Publicity/PR saved OJ from going to jail for the rest of his life for a dirty cold-blooded double murder.

It killed Campanella for a simple remark.

Bob Dornan, Newt, and a host of others merely *uttered* the wrong thing at the wrong time and ended up serving *a life term* - they're out of a job.

Owners HAVE GOT to teach these kids of the pitfalls that await them at every stop. They also have to use better judgement when they sign a player. There should be a conduct clause and an agreement by all owners to keep debris out of the game.

Maybe, just maybe, something positive will come of Bryant's daliance with a blond bimbette. Maybe, just maybe, some of those "dudes" with all the bucks will think twice about "makin it" with some chick on the road while Moma is home with the kids.......Nawwwww

One of the MSNBC talk shows last night devoted a fair amount of time to the Kobe case last night. (Don't recall if it was Hardball or Scarbrough). The comment was made that the "kiss and make up" ring Kobe gave his wife cost $4.0 million. The entire budget of the town of Eagle, CO, where he is being prosecuted is half that amount - $2.0 million.

Gotta believe many members of the jury pool have heard about the ring.
