Ish, I don't understand why anyone would chide you about mentioning a clutch, unless it was one of the wet nosed, green behind the ears, young pricks, that post on SI. There weren't no such thing as automatic transmissions back then, so it was either have a clutch, or ride a bicycle. OW!! That must have been humbling for that to happen in front of your friends, but I would bet we all had some experience like that in our early driving days. OT Why do bagpipers walk when they play? They're trying to get away from the noise.
