Hey DipS..., your woe-is-me note doesn't fly. You are taking all of the worst case scenarios. Things are different this time. The US has a permanent military base in Afghanistan, as we do in Iraq. That makes a huge difference. Over time, if we do things right, civilization will continue to spread and replace anarchy in both countries. It will take a long time. Some look at a glass of water and see it as half empty, some see it as half full. You don't see it at all.
