It was one of Al's best speeches. Too bad he couldn't get his foot out of his mouth during the 2000 election. We might all still be chatting about the stock market, instead of the next Dr. Strangelove. :)

MSI,

I read the Gore speech more or less with my mouth hanging open. I was never overly impressed with Gore, but found myself wondering how we missed the boat by not electing someone who so obviously has a handle on the problems facing our country. Then.... I remembered a survey sent out by the Democratic Party about 2 months ago, which appears to have supplied the grist for Gore's speech. It's easy to forget that in this day and age, politicians NEVER express their own opinions. They express the views the voters want to hear, then do whatever they want when no one is paying attention.

It would really be terrific if these guys ran their surveys and then actually did the jobs they're being paid for, but in the final analysis, for those of us who own horses, it isn't likely to make much difference to us which gang of horse thieves hold the upper hand at any given time.

So let us not forget that Clinton's head of the SEC is now a head honcho at Carlyle Group and that the dot con laddering scams and Enron, World Com, etc. all happened while the Democrats were in charge of over sight.

Just another cotton candy speech. It looks wonderful and tastes sweet, but it doesn't take long to figure out it's mostly hot air and all you end up with is a nasty aftertaste.
