The problem with extreme views and yours is just as extreme as the ones you critique is that nothing gets accomplished by spouting. The people vote for moderation.

There is a good chance that Bush will lose as a result of bungling the PR on the war.

I disagree with one of your premises. The US has the power to help others and should. If we see extreme murder and cruelty towards people, we should act even if the world does not. Personally, I think the US should have waited until the UN was convinced but, on the other hand, it looked like France would do nothing even if Saddam killed 1000 people on TV.

We can't look the other way when there is a Hitler or Saddam involved.

Now where I agree is on the PR and the so-called emphasis on reasons that are impossible to prove or disprove. Are there, were there WMD's? Who knows? They were too stupid to realize that these things can be transported or hidden? Of course not? so they are taking the heat for being so sure before and now saying wait.

I don't blame the critics and I actually welcome it.

However, when you are extreme in your criticism, you will accomplish nothing. More people emulating what you post will re-elect Bush. It's a political fact that Americans rally around their leaders when extremism threatens.

I do believe that terror warnings and incidents have diminished but admittedly there is no statistically significant way of judging that. It may just be that we are finally waking the sleeping giant and government incompetence (by any administration and intelligence community) is finally changing its momentum.
