You know another thing that was fascinating about the Sparta program was how free Spartan women were (according to the program). They could own land, transact business, be out in public, take part in competitive sports (even against men). Fascinating story of a Spartan woman who trained a chariot team to race in the Olympic games of Greece, She won- and carved a tablet in her own honor, which they show in the program. Ironically because of the way other Greek states treated women, she could probably not have attended the Olympics.
