Ish, lot's of veterans are "in the war." Some of them see combat, but that percentage is only around 5%. Steve was one of that 1 of 20 and, moreover, distinguished himself with valor. He served for a 1 year combat tour unless he got pulled out for some reason. That's a HUGE sacrifice. I can't imagine that anyone that really saw combat would take such a "so what" attitude toward that service. I can't believe that anyone that purports to be such a "support the troops" man would fail to acknowledge and appreciate that service.

I'm not trying to demean the efforts of others that serve our country in other capacities. I'm certainly not trying to demean or question the potential service of Jlallen, whatever that was. I am grateful to him if he did serve as an officer during the Gulf war, in whatever capacity. Having said that, however, I also stand behind the things I said about his responses in the series of posts you referenced.
