<<<Anything other than openness and full accountability is tyranny.>>>

I agree. My comment was directed more at the no government at all flavor that seems to show up in some of Soros' stuff. In a lot of ways I think America started out as kind of a democratic anarchy. A few rules everyone could live with, for the good of the majority, then leave everyone alone to do whatever they jolly well pleased the rest of the time.

Where our forefathers screwed up is once they gained power, they couldn't quite bear to trust the people with all of it. What if the people didn't understand the issues and voted against a law the government wanted to pass? Or what if the people voted for a President the government didn't like? The end result is those tiny grains of power they couldn't stand turn loose rebuilt the very same kind of government they fought against in the first place.

I doubt 90% of the laws on the books today could have passed a popular vote, and now the average person pays over 1 hours wages in taxes for every 2 hours they work.

"Openness and full accountability" is the fruit of democracy, not the cure for tyranny. If the people aren't allowed to vote for it, the will of the people is no more meaningful than the noises that come out of a box full of puppies.

9/11 is a double edged blade. Swing it one way, and the Bush Cartel gets their Pearl Harbor and become dictators. Swing it the other way and it cuts off their heads and puts a big chunk of democracy back in the hands of the people. IMO, there are already too many people who know what happened on 9/11 for it to stay secret much longer.

Things could get rather lively when the Bush Cartel finds their faces on decks of playing cards.
