Excellent observation. They may also collect fees to
collect the 'loan' ... so much to collect ... so little
to lose.

FWIW Countrywide usually services its loans
instead of selling them, so that argument is
not really true. I have had two CFC loans
in two states, so I know their practices.

I do think he is trying to generate more
business and help keep the bubble going by
proposing a relaxation of the rules.
