Energy Independence from the ME oil for the USA? For the global economy? This is a bigger fantasy than the delusions that compelled young sociopaths to fly airliners into the WTC's.

Lets see if it sinks in, we are not an island economy. The global economy is dependent on oil, 2/3 of which sits beneath the Persian Gulf nations which Iraq sits dead center between.

Jacob - I have earned a good deal of money trading energy stocks because there are so many people who have no idea what is going on with energy. Our present course of supply demand is startlingly frightening, the supply demand balance is tightening quickly for oil and gas and OPEC nations will have a greater % of supply each year. We have 2-3 years before this is evident even to the most uninformed.

The President is well aware that the value of the oil in the ground around the Persian gulf is going to grow tremendously. Half way through Bush's next term the genius of this Administration will be appreciated by even more people than today.
