Tenchusatsu,
where you been?
:)

To fix a liberal problem you throw more money at it!

Or check out how the dems want to fix Arkansas's school problems...change the tests!

Read it several times because they try to make it sound good.

Ted, I never once said it was a bad idea.

See #reply-19200553. But I'm sure you didn't mean anything by calling the petition signers "stupid, too lazy to find out the facts and like drama." ;-)

Do you really think the ;-) makes me feel better?

Besides, you're playing with semantics here. I like the concept of a recall in a democracy; however, in the case of CA, I don't think it was the way to go. The budget deficit is due to a number of factors none of which are really Davis's fault. Once again, Californians want to blame some one and Davis is their man.

The truth is CA is like the kind of dysfunctional family where everyone wants his own way and no one wants to give an inch. During the latter part of the 90s, CA was doing well again.......revenues were up and so they started to spend like there was no tomorrow........everyone had their special pork project and they were not about give that pork up.

Unfortunately, the bottom fell out of the tech biz in 2000 and then there was the energy crisis in 2001.......the combo of the two knocked CA on its butt and its taken the legislature Reps and the Dems two years to compromise and deal with the problem.

Is Davis less than exciting? You got it. Does he lack the charisma to pull people together? Yeah but I'm not sure the most charismatic person on the planet could make it happen. Is he corrupt and dishonest? I think he's too boring to be corrupt and dishonest.

So why are you spending $70 million to get rid of Davis and then lose at least a year of start up time with the new guy? What's the point?

However, the point of the recall is to get someone better than Davis. Arnold is not better than Davis......probably worse.

Fiscally speaking, it's hard to be any worse than Davis. Between 1998 and 2001, state spending increased by 35%, and 25,000 state employees were added to the payroll.

Check your facts. Was it Davis who instigated the increase in spending or the legislature? From what I've read, it was mostly the legislature.

Is government really providing 35% more services than before? Of course not. Trust in government is at an all-time low.

Believe me, trust in CA gov't always has been low. Why do you think they passed Prop. 13 back in the 70s?

The only way things could become worse is if Mike Tyson became governor of California.

No. Angeline would be much worse!
