Give me a break. Everything I read that is written by American service men and women who are in Iraq or have served there tells the exact opposite story.

You don't speak for Iraqis.

They're not even willing to stop looting so their fellow citizens can have electricity and water! They will have a government which their culture fosters, sooner or later. The only question is how long we will put off that eventuality, and how many lives we're willing to sacrifice in the meanwhile.

I HAVE to respond to that. Have you FORGOTTEN the HUNDREDS of thousands of KURDS in the North GASSED in their UPRISING? How about the Marsh Arabs in the South, whose bodies FILL the mass graves from THEIR uprising. ONE of the reasons I FULLY supported the invasion of Iraq was IMHO we OWED it to the Iraqi people. One of the sorriest chapters in our recent history was our STANDING BY and OBSERVING the slaughter after ENCOURAGING them to rise up in 1991. Bush Sr. was too much of a gentleman and abided by the COALITION AND UN Commitments instead of MORALITY. I think Bush Jr. is more of a REALIST. jdn
