oh I thought you might have been from washington state.

software has been destroyed with offshoring. I can be brutally honest on a website, I have had more than a few friends say directly to me.... "my job used to be fun, now it is an indian sweatshop". I blame Oracle and Larry Ellison for this cheapening of software expertise. I don't know who would want to embark on a career in software now. Maybe one of the consumer areas is better than enterprise. Oracle was profiled very negatively in the IEEEs presentation on indian offshoring and for that reason I doubt they are approved to take out peoplesoft.

But, really, in ALL honesty, can you blame Bush for the burst technology bubble? He's extended Federal unemployment benefits to help those unemployed through rough times and lowered taxes to boost the economy, but there's no way, IMO, that you can blame him for the jobs lost in the last couple of years. It's called ECONOMIC CYCLES!! Those jobs will return, it might need new industries, but they'll be baaack, similar to what Arnold likes to say :-)
