whos arguing with you? Not me. This would be a republican state if we didn't have some kind of far right social conservatives running the primaries who load the republican ticket with people who think the largest crimes being committed today in the world are things consenting adults do in their bedrooms.

The other problem is the conservative wing's hypocrisy. They are all for free trade when it comes to labor issues where millions of jobs are being exported to benefit the few (very few) but somehow free access to canadian drug prices is anti-american. Give me a break.

Put some quality in the republican party in california and take some moderate balanced positions and you can win here. I'm sure I don't need to remind you that Arnold is pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-gay rights, even gay marriage. If Arnold had the same disposition on social issues as Simon, I doubt he could win here.

Are you in CA, Z? YOu'd know what Lizzie was talking about if you were. The CA Repub Party has a death wish. The ONLY reason Arnold is on the ticket is because in a recall he does not have to be vetted by the Party or go through the primaries. In the LAST gubernatorial election it was quite clear Riordan could destroy Davis in the general. But Riordan had positions similar to Arnold's, which pissed off the die hard SoCal and Central Valley regulars. Between that and Davis's attack campaign aimed at Riordan, Simon won the primary and went on to lose the general to Davis. Which Davis knew would happen.

The CA Republican Party would rather be Right than elected.
