All the statements where the Bush Administration took speculation and asserted it as absolute rock solid fact are all sitting there right in the open and on the official record -- the nuclear program that wasn't. The tubes that could only be used for one purpose. The mobile bio-weapons labs. The WMD sites that we knew for a fact were there. The uranium from Niger. The direct links between Saddam and al Qaida. You can say it was not lying if you like. You can say that they believed that wild speculation and rock-solid facts are one and the same thing. But you will have to take your pick between two alternatives: Gross incompetence and criminal negligence or bare-faced lying.
