<Damn poor opinion of our military > Our military is a tool. It's not a universal tool. It's a specialized tool. It does some things, the things it was designed for, very very well. The things it isn't designed for, it does poorly. Being a garrison force, holding down a hostile population, doing nation-building in an utterly foreign culture, this is not what the soldiers trained for. Just because I point out that a hammer is not working well to drive screws, doesn't mean I have a poor opinion of the hammer. I have a poor opinion of people who think their hammer, just because it's a very big hammer, is a universal tool.
